Interior Painting

Before the customer is "wowed" by the end result of a professionally and freshly painted room, there are several steps that we go through in order to prepare the room for painting:

• We rid the room of all pictures and décor.
• Move the furniture and cover it, as well as chandeliers, in plastic
• Put masking tape along all baseboards in order to protect them (no worries, we remove it with no trace after the job is done)
• Cover the floor with industrial drop sheets
• Patch any imperfections, such as nails pops, cracks, dents, and damaged spots in the walls with drywall compound.
• We sand the walls to remove any drywall compound excess and any remaining imperfections
• After this, the room is thoroughly cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and the dust is wiped out
• All this gives your walls a smooth and even look and feel
• To achieve full color coverage and to neutralize the existing old paint or old drywall compound on the walls and to prevent chemical reactions with a fresh latex paint, it is a good idea to prime the walls. We use latex or alkyd primer for older houses.
• Finally, we apply the first coat of paint. As soon as it dries, we give the wall a light sanding and a second coat of paint is applied. This will make the color more rich and vibrant.
• At the end, we clean again, and you can start enjoying your freshly renovated room. To see some results of the whole process, take a look at our samples.

Exterior Painting

"Mother nature has no bad weather". It is a beautiful expression, but, unfortunately it holds little truth as far as exterior painting jobs go. Temperature differences between -35 C and +35C have a significant effect on the painted or stained wood on windows, doors, and decks.

With exterior painting, it is extremely important to spend enough time on preparation work, such as: sanding down peeling paint, wiping out dust, caulking cracks, and priming.

Do not neglect exterior painting maintenance; otherwise it can be too late!

Wall Repairs

We pay special attention to wall repairs since it is impossible to do a proper painting job on a damaged wall. We sand the wall, remove any paint buildup, fix nail pops and water leaks, patch dents and holes, and much more. Many so called "pros" do not pay much attention to wall repairs since it can become quite tedious. However, we, at S.T. Painting & Decorating believe in providing our customers with the highest possible level of service.

Faux Finishing

Proper faux finishing can make a simple wall much more beautiful and elegant. It can set the tone of the entire room, and make it cozier and warmer. Crown Molding

Crown moldings complete a room, and make it more beautiful and elegant even if the room is painted in simple white. Crown moldings do not have to be white either. A crown molding can be painted with many different colors or patterns that make it look antique. This can add a special touch of charm to your room.
